We got to Bayeux on Friday night and explored the city. I went to the big church which was so cool because someone was playing the organ really dramatically and I got to see the crypts. Then I went to this crépe place and had huge savory and sweet crépes which were so good. Then I split a creme brûlée with my friend Alyssa. It was the absolute most amazing thing I've ever eaten! Alyssa got her mission call that night which was really nice. The town of Bayeux is so calm and relaxed. We stayed at a a great bed and breakfast that had the most comfortable beds in the world. Everyone in our group loved Bayeux and it was the best place to stay for our last night in France.

The best thing ever.
The next morning we went to see the Bayeux Tapestry. It was cool to see, but things from medieval times always make me laugh because they look so silly. After Bayeux, we got on the bus and drove to the Chunnel. We had to go through customs and everything, and then our bus drove on to this ferry-type capsule thing, which made me so claustrophobic. After a long ride we drove onto English land and everyone was in great spirits. We settled into our apartments and got ready for our British adventures to begin.
Europe was a great experience. I laughed, almost cried, had swollen feet, sweat, ate tons of pizza, fell in love with gelato, and got really cultured by all the art. I am so grateful I had that experience, and I can't wait to start sharing about all the other cool things I've done while I've been in London.

They sell something at Wal-Mart called The Bayou Tapestry. It's a Chinese-made blanket, depicting the guys from Duck Dynasty, hunting for squirrels. Strangely, Uncle Si is dressed in medieval garb.
ReplyDeleteWere the crypts used for the clergy? How old are they and what do you know about them?
